Two of the most valuable shark species won’t get protections

The world’s oversight body on wildlife trade refused Friday to defend two shark species — porbeagle and spiny dogfish, both worth millions of dollars each year in annual trade — from over-exploitation for a range of food, from supermarket fish-and-chips to gourmet shark fin soup.
